  A True Story of Fate

Our love story is magical and the kind most people only dream about. Tyler and I were both busy people, him with school and I with work. Neither of us dated anyone for the last three years and had given up hope on finding that special person.

Fate was on our side though and led us to each other in a most unusual way. On a whim, Tyler placed an ad in a personals page on the internet.....he was looking for a penpal.

One night, while surfing through the Yahoo sports section I noticed Yahoo had a personals page and decided to check it out. I was amazed at the trash I read there, it was sickening. As I read through the ads, I came to one from Tyler, it was so sweet and seemed so sincere. I sent him a reply that same night.

You have to understand that this is completely out of character for me, and this is where fate comes into play. I am not one to take chances!!!

Tyler and I started writing back and forth via email every day, later confessing that in those early weeks we both would run home and check our email like a kid running to the Christmas tree on Christmas morning.

After about a month we decided to meet in a chat room. It was awkward at first, but it was also very exciting. We talked in the chat room until 6 a.m. We're both in our late 20's so it's not like we were a couple of foolish kids playing on our computers.

About a month after that we decided that we needed to meet in person; since we were both so attached to each other that it was the next logical step.

In the week leading up to our first meeting we were both very nervous, but the minute I saw him for the very first time, I knew in my heart that I had just met the love of my life.

Tyler and I have been together ever since, and it has been absolutely perfect. He is the kindest, sweetest, most generous man I've ever met.

Every minute we spend together is like a dream. And for the very first time in my life I finally understand what people are talking about when they use the word soul-mate. Never in a million years did I ever expect to find someone as perfect and loving as Tyler.   We've been together a year now and on Sweetest Day (Oct. 16) 1999, we are going to be married. This is without a doubt a story that will end with Happily Ever After!

I love you
not for what
I want you to be
But for what you are
I loved you then
For what you were
I love you now
for what you have become
I miss you
And not only you
I miss what I am
When you are here...
